Brief Summary of Book: Just Drop Out (Hannaford Prep #1) by J. ![]() ![]() I did enjoy the book but it’s not a book that will sit with me. It’s not a direct storytelling though as the characters have different names. I didn’t realise this book, although fictitious, is based on the life of a real person. By overcoming illness or grief it really made them feel human. ![]() There is such a range of characters and I like that as the book progresses we follow all of them as their lives move on. It’s great to have a disability (dwarfism) represented but I also feel like he spent the majority of the book resenting it which wasn’t the best message. I must admit I wasn’t the biggest fan of Richard Calmady as a character. It’s a big book- but it’s separated up into different books, where the time passes really well and the writing is beautiful. I didn’t know anything about this book going in and I’m glad of that as I could enjoy the story better. I got this book as part of Reclaim Her Name run by Bailey’s and The Women’s Prize. ![]() ![]() Suddenly Addie finds herself on a whirlwind tour of the Emerald Isle, trapped in the world’s smallest vehicle with Ian and his admittedly cute, Irish-accented friend Rowan.
